To use the Apple Watch, you’ll need to go through a few extra steps: opt for a GPS+Cellular Apple Watch model, sign up for your own Apple ID, have an iPhone on hand and be prepared to follow these instructions:

  1. Remove the SIM card from your Android phone and insert it into your iPhone
  2. Pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone by contacting a network service center, before turning off all devices after.
  3. Remove the SIM card from your iPhone, re-insert it back into your Android phone before turning it back on.
  4. When the Android phone is connected to a network, turn the watch back on.

The only point to keep in mind is that although your Apple Watch and Android device can be paired together, some functions will not work such as sending messages, sharing health data from the watch to your phone, carrying out updates to software or firmware, etc.
